By Bus: Public buses connect Sierpe to larger towns like Palmar Norte, where you can connect from San José.
By Shuttle/Taxi: Private shuttle services or taxis can bring you directly to the Sierpe dock.
Locate the Dock: All boats to Drake Bay depart from the main dock area in Sierpe, easily accessible from the town.
Check-In and Board Your Boat:
Our Boat Shuttle: We offer convenient and direct service. Head to the designated pick-up point for La Perla del Sur.
Daily Departures: Our boat departs every day from Sierpe to Drake Bay at 11:30 AM and 4:00 PM. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled departure to check in and load luggage.
Enjoy the Scenic Journey:
The ride typically takes 1 to 1.5 hours.
You'll first navigate the incredible Sierpe River mangroves, a haven for birds, monkeys, and even crocodiles.
Then, you'll open out into the Pacific Ocean, cruising along the coastline towards Drake Bay. Keep an eye out for dolphins!
Arrival and "Wet Landing" in Drake Bay:
Upon arrival, be prepared for a "wet landing." This means you'll step directly from the boat into the water, usually calf-to-knee deep, to reach the shore.
Wear sandals, water shoes, or flip-flops, and consider wearing shorts or rolling up your pants for easy disembarkation. Your luggage will be handled by the boat crew.
